January Highlights

Mrs. Godfroy

During the month of January we were busy learning about the color blue, rectangles, hibernation, and winter. even though we didn't see snow we still managed to build snowmen. We used paper plates, glue, and all kinds of fun things. They are hanging up at school and will be coming home soon. I hope you love them. The children did a wonderful job and they look great.

Miss Godfroy

January was a very exciting month. We would like to give a warm welcome to Noah, we’re so excited to have a new friend in our class! We made some yummy blue jello for our color of the month.  We even experimented and painted with jello and glue, our projects smelled delicious! Pajama day was so much fun; we had a great time watching Ira Sleeps over, painting our nails and doing tattoos.

Mrs. Gray

We had a very good month of January.  The kids were finally able to play in the snow which was great.  Dinosaur week was great, the kids especially loved making the dinosaur bones and digging for them.  Spirit week is always fun, thank you for all the creative ideas! I can’t believe that February is here!

January flew....Spirit week was a huge hit! The children got to wear their favorite Pj's, crazy hat day and of course NE patriots day!  We worked on Letter E-J and Mat man.  The children are really improving on their tracing skills!  Dinosaur week was fantastic, they especially enjoyed digging for bones( that they got to make) in our Purple sand! I'm looking forward to The month of February!!! Go Patriots!!!!

Mrs. Mercuri

January was so much fun!!  We learned about hibernating animals and dinosaurs.  We had spirit week and everyday we were so excited to see what everyone had on.  We did get to play out in the small amount of snow that mother nature gave us.   Hopefully there will be more coming, it is winter after all!

Mrs. O'Shaughnessy

"Formal Fridays" continue to be a classroom favorite.  Ian and Brianna both brought their moms as their special guests.  We enjoyed fresh fruit and pound cake at both, as well as captivating books.  We have been very busy decorating our room for open house.  Our class had so much fun at the "Pats" rally, snow suit days and all the activities leading up to our bears going into their cave for their long magical sleep of hibernation this week.

Mrs. Raras

January was full of fun starting with our Pajama Day where everyone looked so comfy in their pj's - even the teachers! The kids enjoyed eating mini muffins, popcorn and hot chocolate while watching a cute movie. We ended the fun applying temporary tattoos! Happy Birthday to Jackson! Welcome to the 5 Year Old Club! A special thanks to Reese's Dad who was her special guest for Formal Friday. He was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed his visit. Thank you too to Reese's Mom who sent in yummy cupcakes with special rings for the kids on top - they were a big hit! Meredith chose her Mom to be her special guest and she brought huge homemade chocolate & white chip cookies - they were scrumptious! Everyone enjoyed meeting her and sharing some special time too! Thank you for a wonderful visit. We also enjoyed cheering the Patriots to victory and showed our Pats Pride! Of course we've thrown some learning in here and there! Till next month - take care!

Mrs. Regan

Happy New Year!  This month we learned about the letters G, S, J, & D and enjoyed some fun activities and crafts.   We made blue play-dough to celebrate the color of the month; made a mitten craft after reading The Mitten by Jan Brett; and made our very own “snow paint” (equal amounts of glue and shaving cream) to make puffy snowmen.  We ended the month with our cozy pajama day- we watched Ira Sleeps Over while eating delicious popcorn!

Mrs. Sperounis

The favorite this month was making our own chocolate pudding pies and acting out "The Three Little Kittens".  We made our own class mitten book "My Mitten was so Big a ____ fit inside it" which is circulating to each home.  We also had a chance to climb into a HUGE mitten after reading the story The Mitten by Jan Brett.  See photos under the activities link.

Mrs. Sullivan

This month we learned how to count in French and the names of the colors!

Mrs. Sykes

January welcomed 2 new members into the "Five Year Old Club".  Happy 5th Birthday to James and Elizabeth!  Last January we missed so many school days due to snow.  We've been lucky this year, but haven't been able to have a "snow play" day yet.  We've had a bunch of indoor Winter fun, though.  We had lots of fun with Jan Brett's "The Mitten" and "The Hat".  Ask your child which animals hibernate.  We ended the month with "Pajama Day" which is always a highlight of the year!  Check the pictures on this site.

Mrs. Tretola

January was fun. We learned all about bears and hibernation and did lots of fun projects that went along with it.  The kids had so much fun during dinosaur week, making dinosaur bones and digging for fossils.  We also worked on the letters F, G, H and I. They are working hard on tearing and cutting, holding scissors can be tricky so we need lots of practice. Remember we go outside everyday weather permitting so don't forget to bring your hats and mittens.

Mrs. Tucker

We buried our treasures under our volcanoes, hopefully we can excavate them in June.  Mrs. Van Greenby helped us create frosty the snowman from white chocolate.  Come read our journals we have been doing a lot of creative writing!
